Session 1 - TheGodfatherDictator highlighted the most efficient method for the movement section during the Lion and Lioness Key pickup in Chapter 14. He also clarified the enemy spawn patterns in Chapter 15 waves. Sadly, his commentary was cut short due to an overlooked audio setting in OBS.

I have reached into a point from this game where I really don't realize the small things that keeps my time bleeding during any attempts that I do. Big shout outs to TheGodfatherDictator for offering his lesson session

Chapter 14

Lion Key & Lioness Key

  • Timestamp 0:54 - It’s very important to re-center the camera so that ryu can properly jump at the Lion chest key. The movement after that is debatable on the players preference although what TGD show cased was much faster despite the risk of getting hit.
  • Timestamp 1:31 - This is an example where most runners keep their movement stiff, disregarding small optimizations. A wall run in the first hallway helps put Ryu in a better position while spamming on-landing jumps. In the second ghost fish hallway, it's better to run briefly before jumping, as that will position Ryu more favorably. The ghost fish don't actually charge at you unless you're auto-piloting with roll or on-landing jumps.

Chapter 15

The general rule is to be mindful of Ryu's position and Inazuma timing to ensure consistent enemy spawns. Obtaining 3 Red Essence sets you up for a perfect chapter. If the RNG is completely bad then you will not find yourself abusing Inazuma during Marbus Mobs section.

  • Floor I 3:36 - Start on the right side by killing 3 red dinos. Check for a Red Essence before the second wave spawns in the same spot. Cast Inazuma as soon as the first dino appears. When you reach the left side, instantly cast Inazuma because they spawn faster there. The main risk in this fight is one red dino surviving the second wave, but as long as you kill at least 2, the last wave will still spawn.
  • Floor II 6:32 - This is a timing-based room. Two red dinos will immediately spawn along with waves of pill bugs. You'll need to instantly position yourself in front of the exit door and kill them with Inazuma. Stay still until another two red dinos appear in the opposite direction and repeat the process. The last wave is likely going to be just one dino so kill it with UT. You can attempt to try your luck for the Red Essence by killing bugs near you with X,Y before switching the positions during Red Dino clears.
  • Floor III 7:34 - Many runners overlook this room, failing to realize the auto-pilot mistake of trying to target all monsters at once. Instead, prioritize standing in front of the laser crab and killing it with 2 Inazuma. If other mobs survive, simply position yourself at the statue pillar and charge for a gleaming blade bait.
  • Floor IV 8:09 - This floor remains largely unchanged across difficulty levels. The key is to ensure you hit both targets with your ninpo. It's better to use your ninpo carefully here rather than prioritizing speed as in previous floors. If the second ninpo misses, finish off the enemies with gleaming blade.
  • Marbus Mobs I 9:03 - The timing for casting Inazuma is crucial here. Cast the second Inazuma as soon as the first mob of the second wave spawns. The last cast should be immediate. Remember, the timing depends on two factors: the death animation of the previous enemies and the appearance of new ones.
  • Final Hydra 9:33 - It's actually possible to two-cycle Hydra without the Armlet of the Sun. Your combo after the tentacle cut should be: X,Y Essence Absorbed Gleaming Blade x2 > Regular Gleaming Blade.
  • Marbus Mobs II 10:23 - This wave largely depends on your devil elixir supply. Be sure to save one slot for the Marbus loop. For the final refill, switch to Lunar to one-shot each demon with ET.
  • Final Yotunfrau 11:05 - Similar to Chapter 12, aim for a pattern that allows Ryu to spam Full Moon Strike continuously. In some instances, you might need to add a X attack to adjust the timing of its Yotunfrau pattern.
  • Marbus 12:03 - If Marbus spawns mobs in an unfavorable pattern, eliminate them immediately with an ET charge. Otherwise, he'll delay the fight for too long. After stunning Marbus with an Inazuma dive, quickly switch your equipment to Fire Wheels Ninpo > True Dragon Sword > APFSDS Core Arrow before you start looping him with Steel Splitter.
  • Emperor 14:07 - This fight is rough as you need to strategically take down the neck and shoulder simultaneously. Doing so allows Ryu to move freely for the final shoulder knockdown with a fully charged Gleaming Blade. It's crucial to practice the one-shot in phase 2 by understanding the initial movement. Release the arrow when the timer hits 93 seconds.

Movements in The Core

  • To pick the core key quickly: Do not re-center the camera just do downward right running X to pick then jump backward to go back.
  • When interacting with the door, the quickest way to avoid the ghost fish's bite is to land with an Air Destruction Slash after a specific number of on-landing jumps. Sometimes you may have to opt for upward wall run to the door for Cicada Slash. It’s slightly slower but it lets you to interact with the door instantly.
  • When you are exiting Marbus Dungeon. **Roll Jump > On-landing Jump > Roll Jump** is the quickest way to move between the bridges.
  • To reach the last statue placement quickly: **Jump into Violent Gale (Running X,X)**

Chapter 11 Skip

There are 3 visual cue that you need to follow for successful skip:

  • The entry point which is going through the broken triangle hole.
  • Character’s height which you can identify while swimming side to side tunnel.
  • Not steering Ryu instantly before reaching to the elevator. This will cause him to fall down no matter how correct your movement is.

Nailing down this skip will save immense amount of time in Chapter 12 because you will only end up using 1 Great Elixir only.
